If you dream of an autumn wardrobe made up of coordinated fabrics, you’ll definitely want to check out our collection of Atelier Brunette! Direct from Paris, Atelier Brunette’s entire line of fabric and notions is created with a consistent palette and aesthetic—while you can add variety with your selection of substrates and garment patterns, there’s a common thread (sewing pun intended) that connects everything you make with Atelier Brunette fabrics. Whether you decide to sew one piece or several, you’ll be impressed with the very wearable palette and high-quality fabrics in this collection!
While the Atelier Brunette fabric collection includes a variety of substrates (challis, twill, gauze, and more), all of their fabrics are of a similar weight—this means that they can work well for the same garments with slightly different results! For these fabrics, we’ll look for garment patterns that call for a lightweight woven fabric with a bit of drape, like these fall favorites:
For your Atelier Brunette inspiration: Sales Associate Hulda made a stunning Zadie Jumpsuit (PDF pattern from Paper Theory Patterns) out of gingham cotton double gauze in Night/Ochre. The double-sided fabric features a different scale of gingham on each side; Hulda used the smaller gingham for design detail on the cuffs, waist tie, and binding of the jumpsuit. We love the jumpsuit’s effortlessly chic look: it’s perfect to dress up or down depending on the occasion!
Choosing the right button can really elevate your handmade garment, so we’re excited to carry a selection of beautiful Atelier Brunette buttons! Atelier Brunette’s enamel buttons are made in France with the same gorgeous color palette as their fabrics, so you can always find the perfect button match for your Atelier Brunette sewing project (they look great with other fabrics, too!).
