Over the years, we’ve watched Me Made May grow into something pretty magical. Started in 2010 by sewist and blogger @sozoblog, sewists across the country and around the world spend the month of May wearing what they’ve made, sharing pieces that hold stories, learning curves, and a whole lot of heart. There’s a quiet bravery in that, and a kindness, too: every year we see sewists cheering each other on, celebrating every win, and making space for wherever you are on your sewing journey.
Every time you share what you’ve made and how you wear it, you’re shining a light on the bigger circle that made it possible. Fabric and garment pattern designers, small shops, and creative businesses rely on this kind of connection to keep going. Your participation helps sustain this creative ecosystem. And then there’s the resiliency sewing teaches: we try, we adjust, we learn, we remake. Me Made May holds space for all of that. It’s about noticing what you wear, what you love, and what you might do differently next time.
During Me Made May we’ve seen friendships form, confidence grow, and creativity reignite. It’s a reminder that sewing lives in community, sharing, and showing up as we are. discover ponte knits
If you’re in search of a few new fabrics to stretch your spring wardrobe, don’t miss our collection of ponte knits! Ponte is a stable, double-knit fabric with excellent stretch and recovery. It is fully opaque with a soft, smooth hand and a nice drape—heavier ponte knits work well for jackets, pants, and skirts, while lighter ponte knit makes nice dresses and tops. Ponte is so soft, smooth, and stretchy, it’s an absolute dream to wear—now you, too, can create your own “secret pajamas” for work, travel, and more!

We’ve talked about ways to incorporate ponte knits into your wardrobe, now let’s talk about some great garment patterns! If you’re feeling like your wardrobe could use a big knit overhaul, the Cashmerette Grafton Dress, Top & Skirt Mix & Match is the pattern for you! We love that this is essentially a whole knit capsule wardrobe in one package—lots of options for skirts, tops, and dresses with endlessly customizable features. The pattern is available in two size ranges (0–16 and 12–32) and cup sizes up to G/H. Many of the views in this pattern work with lighter-weight jerseys, too! Ponte knit separates are great for casual wear, and they’re a perfect fit for the office, too! The Parker Ponte Pant and the Renee Ponte Pants are a fantastic place to start—sew these wardrobe essentials in your favorite colors and you’ll find yourself wearing them everywhere. What we love most about Me Made May is how it brings everything full circle. The fabrics, the patterns, the time spent at your machine—all of it comes to life when you wear what you’ve made out into the world. These pieces become part of your daily rhythm, shaped by your choices, your creativity, and your willingness to try something new.
It’s also a beautiful reminder that there’s no one “right” way to sew or to participate. Whether you’re wearing something handmade every day or just a few favorite pieces throughout the month, it all counts. Each garment tells a story of learning, experimenting, and growing—and that’s what this is really about.
As the month unfolds, we hope you’ll keep sharing, keep making, and keep noticing what you love. This is a time to celebrate your work, your progress, and your connection to a larger community of makers. We’re so happy to be part of it with you—and we can’t wait to see what you’re wearing.
