We’ve got some beautiful new linen fabrics in stock right now, just in time for spring and summer! 100% linen has a pretty drape and a slubbed texture—it’s a great choice for home dec projects like curtains and tablecloths, and it makes really lovely clothing, too! This slightly-sheer polka-dot linen is going to make a cute Cuff Top, even better worn with The Juno in a matching two-tone linen. We love exploring the different textures of linen fabrics! A midweight linen that’s woven with a textured stripe will make a stunning pair of Pietra Pants, perfect for any occasion. Lightweight yarn-dyed linen is airy but not too sheer—a lovely choice for a floaty Romey Gathered Top. We love a linen/rayon blend for a simple Cielo Dress—it’s the perfect combination of a substantial (but not heavy) weight, a pretty drape, and an incredible color!

If you’re used to sewing with cotton wovens, you’re more than ready to start sewing with linen! Like cotton, linen is a perfect match for a universal needle and Gutermann Sew-All thread. Using a non-starch smoothing spray like Flatter will help stabilize wiggly linen fabric for cutting, and Wonder Clips hold everything together even better than pins! To make 100% linen wrinkle less, follow these instructions from Sandra Betzina: Before washing, iron the fabric with the hottest, driest iron possible. Machine wash in hot water and tumble dry on high heat. Remove only when completely dry. This method will result in shrinkage, but small, soft folds will replace the hard creases usually associated with linen.
