Your fabric finds will steal the spotlight as custom jackets! Corduroy, wool coating, and so many of our fabrics are great matches for our jacket patterns. Whether you choose to go flashy, fashion-focused, or strictly functional, we know you’ll love making (and wearing) a custom jacket! Keep reading for some of our favorite jacket patterns and our fabric matches.

With a silhouette inspired by classic workwear, the Thayer Jacket is a favorite cool-weather layering piece. It’s a perfect fit for so many fabrics, but we find it especially cozy in a midweight fabric like wide-wale corduroy or wool coating. To add a lining to this jacket, we recommend cozy flannel for the body and Bemberg rayon for the smoothest sleeve linings.

We love the vintage-inspired fit of The Assembly Line’s Cropped Jacket, and there are so many fabrics we’d like to try with this pattern! For a cozy winter version, you can’t go wrong with a classic plaid wool coating. For multi-season wear, we love the unique texture (it reminds us of retro barkcloth!) of our midweight cotton/polyester slub.

These technical fabrics are cool to the touch with a crisp texture—a fantastic match for lightweight, structured garments. We’re inspired to make these fabrics into The Assembly Line’s Hoodie Parka. Made in these lightweight fabrics, the parka will take the form of a stylish shell, ideal for springtime wear.

We’re bringing out our fanciest fabrics (note the metallic thread details!) and pairing them with one of our favorite silhouettes: the Nova Coat. Can this jacket be elegant? Yes! Can you wear it with jeans on a Tuesday? Also yes! We love the versatility of using “special occasion” fabric for a garment we’ll wear much more often.
