This vintage pattern by Decades of Style is from the early 1940’s. This lightweight coat has so many pretty details it is hard to know where to start when describing it. It was meant to be a lightweight coat worn over a dress so it has less ease than you might expect from a modern coat. It is more of a laying piece than a coat for real warmth.
Single-breasted coat has a deep shaped front yoke finished with a lapped seam. A lapped seam is also used to finish the top of the center back panel. Lining and side pockets optional.
