Stretch velvet is a knit fabric with a short, dense pile, giving it a soft hand and napped texture. This fabric has a soft hand, a slinky drape, and is mostly opaque. It works well for knit projects, such as dresses, skirts, t-shirts, and leggings. Please note, this fabric has small cut on the selvage, along with some crushed pile from being rolled on the bolt (this can most likely be removed with steam). Please see last photo for reference. The listed width does not include the crushed pile.
Wondering what “deadstock” means? Deadstock fabrics are left over from garment factories and textile mills. Instead of ending up in a landfill, this fabric comes to us! It can be a more sustainable option than newly manufactured fabrics and it’s a great way to get interesting garment fabrics (sometimes even designer pieces!).
