Stretch velvet is a knit fabric with a short, dense pile, giving it a soft hand and napped texture. This fabric has a soft hand, a slinky drape, and is mostly opaque. It works well for knit projects, such as dresses, skirts, t-shirts, and leggings. Please note, this fabric has some crushed pile along the selvage from being rolled on the bolt (this can most likely be removed with steam). The listed width does not include the crushed pile.

It can be a more sustainable option than newly manufactured fabrics and it’s a great way to get interesting garment fabrics (sometimes even designer pieces!).
