This deadstock wool coating has a thin, lightweight layer applied to the back of the fabric to make it waterproof and wind resistant. The face of the fabric is also treated to make water bead and slide off the surface, adding even more weather protection. This coating is on the lighter side and would make great coats, jackets, capes, and more. Please note that it has a nap, which may affect your fabric requirements. The polyurethane laminate layer is breathable, but has a slightly rubbery feel and you may want to consider using a lining.
Wondering what “deadstock” means? Deadstock fabrics are left over from garment factories and textile mills. Instead of ending up in a landfill, this fabric comes to us! It can be a more sustainable option than newly manufactured fabrics and it’s a great way to get interesting garment fabrics (sometimes even designer pieces!).
