There are so many factors to consider—denim? canvas? a lining? a hood? Now is the perfect time to start crafting a custom jacket for fall, and we’re here with the patterns and fabrics to inspire your autumn sewing!

Waxed Cotton Canvas – Brown

Can’t find the perfect jean jacket? Why not make your own! The Stevie Jean Jacket is designed with oversized sleeves for an excellent “boyfriend” fit—to us it feels classic and 80s-inspired, easy to layer over sweaters, sweatshirts, and more. This is a challenging pattern with lots of pieces, bulk, and topstitching; but it’s also an incredible skill-builder, so take your time and enjoy the process as well as the result! We love the Stevie in midweight fabrics like denim, corduroy, canvas, and linen.

We are delighted to be the first U.S. stockist of paper patterns from Belgium-based Notches Patterns! Notches patterns feature high-quality designs, multiple style options, and user-friendly instructions. We currently have a small collection of five Notches patterns in stock, including two fun jackets just in time for fall. We can’t wait to start sewing with these new Notches patterns, and if you pick one up, we’d love to see what you make!

The Jordy Jacket pattern was created in collaboration with Belgian designer Jordy Arthur and is a handsome addition to our collection! We love this jacket’s design and construction, including a raglan sleeve and collar and pocket options. The Rava Jacket pattern is filled with fall fashion potential! Rava is designed with batwing sleeves and a retro-inspired shape that works well with so many of our fabrics, knits and wovens alike. For a classic fall look, choose a wool blend suiting (plaid optional!). For a sleek, utilitarian look, try one of our cotton/nylon twills. For a retro sporty look, combine two or more colors of Kobeor Fineline Twill. Prefer a pullover?
