What inspires your sewing? Today we’re finding lots of inspiration in our most recent batch of designer deadstock fabrics from Bay Area-based fashion label Amour Vert! Through our partnership with Amour Vert, we’ve been able to source some gorgeous, sustainable deadstock fabrics left over from their production line, and this week we’re excited to share a restock of some favorites we’ve carried before. If you like what you see here, you’ll want to keep an eye on our New Arrivals in the next few weeks, as there is definitely more to come. As with all deadstock fabric, quantities are limited—if you see something you can’t live without, don’t wait too long to place your order!
Amour Vert has made a commitment to sustainable and eco-friendly fabric production, and these beautiful fabrics are the result. We love that their fabric production process is socially and environmentally responsible, transparent, and traceable. We also love that working with these materials inspires us to continue the pattern of sustainability: join us in sewing garments that will be a treasured part of our wardrobe for years to come!
You can’t go wrong with bold black and white prints for a fantastic look. An abstract black and white pattern makes a versatile jumpsuit (choose Nova for knits, Avenir for wovens) that you can dress up or down with your choice of shoes and accessories. A lightweight stretch cotton in a pretty calla lily print makes an an easy-sew, easy-wear Montana Midi Dress that will be a delight for any spring occasion.
We always love viscose challis for a pretty, flowy dress, but when we want to mix it up a bit we’ll try challis for separates like the Wattle Skirt or any combination of elements from the Estella pattern—so good! Amour Vert’s lightweight sweater knits are made in Los Angeles and are a perfect match for the Pearl Cardigan, destined to be your favorite layering piece for spring.
For a bit of luxury, slip into Amour Vert’s silk and cupro fabrics! Silk chiffon is floaty and sheer, and will make a gorgeous Billow Blouse (layer it over a simple Ogden Cami). We love silky, sandwashed cupro sateen for all kinds of garments—frocks like the Yvette Woven Dress, pretty loungewear like the Reef Camisole and Shorts, and much more.
Guess what: there’s even more amazing designer deadstock to come! We’ll be launching about 30 more fabrics from Amour Vert in the coming weeks—all brand new to the shop—including solids, prints, wovens, and knits. A few are pictured here, and there are so many more! Keep an eye on our New Arrivalsand our Instagram for updates.
