Cotton poplin is a lightweight fabric with an even weave and a high thread count. It is lighter-weight than quilting cotton, but heavier than lawn or voile. This lightweight deadstock poplin has a very smooth hand and a crisp drape. It is fairly opaque and will work well on its own for shirts, blouses, and lined dresses. It can also be used as a lining.
Wondering what “deadstock” means? Deadstock fabrics are left over from garment factories and textile mills. Instead of ending up in a landfill, this fabric comes to us! It can be a more sustainable option than newly manufactured fabrics and it’s a great way to get interesting garment fabrics (sometimes even designer pieces!).
