British Designer Deadstock – Solid Linen – Chocolate

This light/medium-weight deadstock linen has a soft hand and a bouncy drape that will soften with washing. It is somewhat sheer, so you may prefer a lining depending on the garment. It is perfect for tops, dresses, skirts, pants, curtains, and more.

Wondering what “deadstock” means? Deadstock fabrics are left over from garment factories and textile mills. Instead of ending up in a landfill, this fabric comes to us! It can be a more sustainable option than newly manufactured fabrics and it’s a great way to get interesting garment fabrics (sometimes even designer pieces!).

Care Instructions: To make linen wrinkle less, follow these instructions from Sandra Betzina: Before washing, iron the fabric with the hottest, driest iron possible. Machine wash in hot water and tumble dry on high heat. Remove only when completely dry. This method will result in shrinkage, but small, soft folds will replace the hard creases usually associated with linen.
