This novelty deadstock silk is unique in many ways! It has a woven, almost dobby-like texture, interesting graffiti printing style, and a large-scale panel print of flowers and butterflies. It has a matte textured hand and a beautiful drape. This fabric would work well for blouses, lined dresses, and lined skirts. Because of the large scale of this panel it could also be a beautiful wall hanging! This fabric is not fully opaque, so you may prefer a lining depending on the garment—silk habotai would be a great choice. Each panel is 49 x 44 inches.
Wondering what “deadstock” means? Deadstock fabrics are left over from garment factories and textile mills. Instead of ending up in a landfill, this fabric comes to us! It can be a more sustainable option than newly manufactured fabrics and it’s a great way to get interesting garment fabrics (sometimes even designer pieces!).
