Today we’re feeling inspired by the excellent colors in our designer deadstock collection—starting with the trio of lime-infused fabrics above. If you love lime as an accent color as much as we do, maybe this spring is the perfect time to really get into it! Choose a super-lightweight wool for a Lotta Dress or an Indigo Top, and linen for a breezy top like The Clover or the Oversized Shirt.
What better compliment to a calm neutral than a bright pop of color? We’re dreaming of cozy, custom-fit Meriam Trousers in this gorgeous wool flannel, and will punch up our look with some fun bright orange! How about a Front Pleat Shirt in this Dune-adjacent voile, and bringing it all together with The September in a smart plaid linen? Too good!
We can’t get enough of plummy, jammy berry colors—and what goes best with jam but shades of golden toast? We love the way these colors come together in this group, and we’re creating a couple of looks with Style Arc Patterns, which are new to the shop this month! Choose light fabrics like silk crepe or wool challis for dresses like Hope and Yvette, and a gorgeous wool coating for a bold take on a classic Beatrice Pea Coat.
If you love Cashmerette’s patterns and books about sewing for curvy bodies, you won’t want to miss out on their Sloper School this spring! This 9-week online course will teach you how to fit a sloper, or generic pattern, specifically to your body and then use it to alter commercial sewing patterns to fit you perfectly without having to make fit adjustments every time. This course is a fantastic value and will be a big help to sewists who want to take their craft to the next level. Enrollment ends this Friday, March 15th; don’t miss it!
Stonemountain customer Doris sent us photos of this handsome Overshirt Jacket she made to replace a favorite wool overshirt that had been shrunk in the wash. Doris chose a deadstock heavyweight cotton flannel that will be a cozy, easy-care alternative to wool. We love the fabric choice, the pattern matching, and the thoughtful contrast yoke and pockets—well done, Doris!
