 extraordinary designer deadstock fabrics
If you’re starting to plan your spring sewing projects, browsing our ever-expanding collection of designer deadstock fabrics is sure to inspire! These fabrics come to us as offcuts from the garment industry—the collection includes a wonderful assortment of quality basics as well as special pieces you won’t find anywhere else.

In anticipation of spring, we’ve been browsing the deadstock collection for fabrics that will make our everyday look extraordinary. We’re starting with patterned denim and twill that are perfect for wear-anywhere basics like the Stevie Jean Jacket and the Tommie Jeans Skirt!
spring shirtings
Being able to sew our own custom-fit wardrobe basics is one of the most rewarding parts of sewing, and working with high-quality designer fabrics makes the experience even better. Button-up shirts take some practice to fit and to master, but they are so worth the effort—we love a cotton shirting or linen for a button-up Fairfield or Overshirt Jacket, or for a button-less Donny Shirt. If your day-to-day demands business casual, don’t sleep on our mocha cotton sateen—its subtle brushed texture will make you want to wear your work pants even on your day off!
British Designer Deadstock
But wait, there’s more! This lightweight cotton twill is so light and airy, it’ll be an absolute dream for a drapey Roscoe or Romey. Choose from dozens of crisp cotton shirtings and make your own perfect Jenna Shirt & Shirtdress. The slight textured weave of our cotton herringbone shirting will add stripes and style to a simple spring Austin Dress.

rue quilt coat
Friend of the shop Sadie from Spaghetti Western Sewing let us know about her latest pattern release, the Rue Quilt Coat! Rue is a quilted work coat with a retro-inspired collar and fun split side hems, and the pattern includes sizes from little kid to adult. A few of Sadie’s pattern testers made up their Rue coats in fabrics from Stonemountain & Daughter, and we’re excited to share them with you today!
Noelle's coat
Noelle’s coat (above) is made with Kaffe Fassett yarn-dyed stripes with a contrasting panel and lining and excellent use of bias tape (check out the gingham on the pockets!). Chelsea’s coat (below) is made with our favorite poppy-print Japanese linen, with lining and binding in the perfect shade of blue (P.S. Looking for your own perfect color match? We love Cotton Couturefor easy lining and bias tape!). You can get the Rue Quilt Coat pattern directly from Spaghetti Western Sewing, and P.S. we heard that Studio Sessions in Berkeley has a Rue class coming up! If you make a Rue with fabric from the shop, we’d love to see it: tag @stonemountainfabric on Instagram!
